Frequently asked questions
What is Punycode?
An encoding that represents Unicode domain names using only ASCII, prefixed with xn--, so DNS can handle them.
Why do some browsers show xn-- addresses?
To protect against look-alike domains, browsers may display the Punycode form.
Does it convert email addresses?
Yes. Only the domain part after @ is converted; the local part is left unchanged.
